Seattle Maharashtra Mandal presents 2-act Marathi play "Aasu aani hasu". Originally conceived by Prof. Vasant Kanetkar, but handed off to P. L. Mayekar (after Prof. Kanetkar’s demise) for completion, this play talks about looking at both sides of the coin. It is the only play in the history of the Marathi Theatre that has presented the topic this way. The moral of the story is that we can make life miserable or worth living for ourselves depending on how we look at it. Hence the name Aasu ani Hasu. In this day and age where there are so many competing priorities in life where we can get bogged down and sometimes depressed, all we need to realize is that there is only one life to live, so let’s live it with happiness rather than sadness. Let’s look at how fortunate we are than how unfortunate we can get. This play really teaches us an important lesson of life that we can use on a day-to-day basis.
